But Hulshoff, too, has taken no time in finding his next role in European soccer. The 51-year-old has confirmed that he has joined Giovanni van Bronckhorst's coaching staff at Feyenoord.

The ex-Barcelona and Rangers defender was handed the reins at De Kuip in June and he moved swiftly to land Hulshoff.Van Bronckhorst himself had worked with Slot at Anfield and he, too, exited with the rest of the coaches when the axe fell on the latter's time as boss. We are therefore delighted to welcome them both back to Rotterdam."Hulshoff broke his silence on his new position and shared a post on his Instagram channel with an image of himself taking a training session.

And he captioned it: "After two fantastic years at Liverpool FC, I’ve now embarked on a wonderful new challenge at Feyenoord Rotterdam".Liverpool boss Arne Slot with assistant Sipke Hulshoff(Image: Getty Images)The coach has worked at Feyenoord previously with their academy before he moved into their first-team where he helped Slot and his squad win the Eredivisie title in 2023.Hulshoff was thrust into the spotlight at Anfield last season when he was forced to lead the team into the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Southampton. Slot had been serving a touchline ban which meant he could not get involved and had to watch from the stands as his assistant took charge. The old guard at Liverpool moving on has allowed the club to throw their efforts fully behind Iraola for the new season ahead. The Spaniard will not have any lingering crossover in terms of staff from Slot's tenure and that will allow him to mold his own behind the scenes team to try and push for the title this term.Choose Liverpool.com as a 'Preferred Source' on Google News for quick access to the news you value.Sipke HulshoffArne SlotLiverpool FC
